Microbial processing of tannery waste for compost production in the growth and quality improvement of ornamental plants

Research goal: The article presents research results that aim to highlight microbial activity in the composting process of waste from tanning industries. various steps compost production with inocula and resulting stable material for growing substrates ornamental plants are emphasised. Materials Methods: experimentation was divided into two phases, a first part transformation tannery by took place at company Sirp spa (VR), second evaluation plant cultivation carried out CREA-OF greenhouses Pescia (PT). experimental theses involved using peat biological sludge, respectively, treated microorganisms liquid form, supplemented solid matrix colonised microorganisms, added sugar cane molasses. Results Discussion: test showed it possible cultivate Delosperma cooperi on sludge showing an improvement agronomic characteristics which were inoculated during phase. In general, significantly more significant microorganism solution than when organic used as substrate inoculating microorganisms. Furthermore, better controls those molasses alone. untreated thesis worst all tested. Finally, trial also how use could positively influence reduction some essential industrial contaminants after only six months treatment. Conclusions: This may interest growers who want reduce synthetic chemicals agriculture concerned about sustainability, but companies whose primary goal is produce new alternative looking matrices. Also, industries environmentally friendly transform produced their processes reuse it, perhaps grow plants.
